The app does not collect your data
InboxHop has no analytics, advertising, tracking SDKs, account system or application server. We do not receive your email addresses, message content, inbox messages or browsing history through the app.
How email links are handled
The Mac app reads the mailto link you open and passes its recipients, subject and text to Gmail in Safari. A Gmail-only browser extension locates the compose fields and fills a new draft. It can bring an existing Gmail tab for the chosen account forward. The link details are processed in memory and removed from the routing address after reading. The browser or operating system may retain URL history independently of InboxHop.
Safari permission
The extension requests permission to read and change pages only on mail.google.com. This technically allows access to Gmail page contents; the app uses it for composing and tab routing, not to collect your inbox or password. You can revoke access in Safari settings at any time.
What stays on your Mac
InboxHop saves your selected Gmail account number and detected email address in its local settings on your Mac. The address is read from Gmail tabs in Safari to make account selection understandable. macOS and Safari retain the default-app and extension permissions you choose. InboxHop does not keep a message history.
Gmail and Apple
Gmail may save drafts and process your data under Google's own privacy policy. InboxHop does not send messages automatically. Apple handles App Store purchases and may provide its standard aggregated sales reports or diagnostics according to your Apple settings. We do not receive payment-card details.
Support and this website
If you email support, we receive the email and the information you choose to provide and use it to respond and troubleshoot. Please do not send passwords or private mail content. This website uses no advertising or analytics scripts and sets no application cookies. Its hosting provider may process standard request logs, including IP addresses, for website operation and security.
Questions or deletion requests
Contact inboxhop@fridthjof.com. We can address information you sent to support. InboxHop has no server-side user account or email database to delete. To remove the app's access, disable the Safari extension and restore your previous default mail app.
